For POCT professionals and the companies who serve them
Equipped scientists move projects. Moved projects grow markets. Everyone wins.
POCT implementation is complex. The gap between a product being chosen and it actually working — clinically, technically, and operationally — is where things go wrong. Because POCT done well transforms patient care. Labwise exists to close that gap — practical education for POCT professionals, and strategic insight for the companies who serve them.
Most POCT coordinators and lab managers are brilliant at the clinical side — but when it comes to IT connectivity, they're left navigating a world that nobody fully explained to them.
Middleware. HL7. LIS integration. Network requirements. It's technical, it's jargon-heavy, and when something goes wrong, you're stuck between IT teams who don't understand POCT and device vendors who can't fix your network.
This short course changes that.
But it's not just about the systems, it's the people too. A truly bespoke course for POCT scientists!
This Course is now open for enrolment! Fully online and self-paced.

About Carole — Labwise Academy
There's a principle in lean thinking that has always stayed with me: honour the person closest to the problem. They have the most important expertise in the room. They just don't always have the tools, the language, or the platform to act on it.
That's why Labwise exists.
I'm a Medical Scientist with over 15 years of experience across clinical laboratory practice, point-of-care testing, regulatory affairs, medical device sales, and healthcare change management. I've been on every side of the table — the scientist trying to get a project approved, the sales specialist navigating hospital procurement, the change manager bridging clinical and IT teams. I know what the gap looks like from all angles.
What I kept seeing, again and again, was the same thing. Talented, highly educated medical scientists with the right instincts and the right ideas — stopped in their tracks. Not because they lacked expertise, but because nobody had given them the business skills, the stakeholder frameworks, or the project language to make things actually happen in healthcare.
Too many great ideas failed because of poor stakeholder engagement or weak project delivery. I decided to do something about that.
LabWise Academy exists to close the gap between knowing and doing. Practical education built for POCT professionals who are ready to lead — not just advise. And strategic insight for the companies who serve them, because vendors who understand the clinical reality sell better, implement better, and build better relationships.
My background spans biochemistry, POCT implementation, IT connectivity, regulatory affairs, medical device sales, and health services management across both public and private healthcare. I've trained hundreds of healthcare staff, spoken at universities, published in Pathology in Practice, and built a consultancy that attracted over 8,000 visitors. But what I'm most proud of is simpler than any of that — helping fellow scientists develop the practical skills that turn their expertise into real-world impact.
'Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can'
That's the only place any of this begins.
